In 2010, Georg Eckert (46) completed a postdoctoral thesis on international corporate law at the Vienna University of Economics and Business to qualify as a professor. Since 2010, he has worked as a private lecturer at the Vienna University of Economics and Business and simultaneously completed his professional training as a lawyer specializing in corporate and business law. In 2014, he accepted a professorship at the University of Innsbruck.

Georg Eckert does research in national, international and european corporate law. As of October 1, he has now assumed the professorship for corporate law with a focus on cartel law at the Institute of Company Law of the Vienna University of Economics and Business. He is therefore returning to his former university.
